A native of Rochester, NY, Dina Noto received her MFA in Experimental Animation from the California Institute of the Arts (Valencia, CA), and her BFA from the School of Art and Design at Alfred University (Alfred, NY). Noto works in multiple media, including comics, soft sculpture, and animation.
Noto is the proprietor of Fuzzpatch Studio, a plush art concern featuring custom hand-sewn creatures such as Lovecat and DoggoFelto. She has exhibited her fabric sculpture at Rochester Contemporary Art Center (Rochester, NY), The Yards Collective (Rochester, NY), MCLA Gallery 51 (North Adams, MA), Easthampton City Arts Cultural Chaos (Easthampton, MA), the Brothership Building (Pittsfield, MA), IS183 Art School (Stockbridge, MA), and HomeRoom Gallery (Los Angeles, CA). Fuzzpatch Studio creations are available at Little Button Craft in Rochester, NY.
Noto’s drawings have been featured in such exhibitions as Rochester Contemporary Art Center’s Members Exhibition (Rochester, NY), Small Works (Main Street Arts, Clifton Springs, NY), inDIVISIBLE (Eclipse Mill Gallery, North Adams, MA), Berkshire Art Association Biennial Show—Othering (Lichtenstein Center, Pittsfield, MA), and Die Formmeister (MCLA Gallery 51, North Adams, MA). Her illustration work has most recently appeared in the essay collection Lost Objects, published by Hat & Beard Press, and The HOCUS Tarot Vol. I. Her animation has been recognized in a variety of national and international festivals, including the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film, Ann Arbor Film Festival, the Black Maria Film Festival, and the Barcelona Art Contemporary Festival.
